JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -Â North Florida Athletics publicly announces a set of new hirings and promotions within the UNF athletics development office, two of which include North Florida alums.
Adam Polansky returns to North Florida as assistant director of development and strategic revenue, while Jaycie Wegner takes over as special events coordinator. Josh Baker, who rejoined North Florida in January of 2020 as assistant director of development, is promoted to assistant athletic director of development.
"We are very excited to add two new team members, Jaycie Wegner and Adam Polnasky, as well as also having Josh Baker transition into his new role as assistant athletic director," Senior Associate AD for Development Matthew Lisiewski said. "During the search process, we were very intentional about making sure we brought on board individuals who had an elite work ethic and clearly wanted to be a part of the momentum we are building here at UNF. There is no doubt that we have found the right individuals."
Adam Polansky - Assistant Director of Ticketing, Development and Strategic Revenue
No stranger to North Florida Athletics, Adam Polansky officially re-joined the University of North Florida staff as the Assistant Director of Ticketing Development and Strategic Revenue Oct. 17, 2022.Â
In this position, Polansky oversees the direction of ticket revenue generation, working under the direction of the UNF development staff.
Polansky most recently served as the director of marketing at Campbell University in Buies Creek, N.C., handling that role for over a year before making his return to Jacksonville. Prior to his time at Campbell, Polansky took on his first major role in the marketing sphere of college athletics, working as marketing assistant for nearly two years with UNF. During that time he aided in a variety of office and event duties for the marketing department, helping with graphics, video board operation and executing marketing plans.
Polansky possesses two degrees from UNF, a bachelor's in sport management and a master's in business administration.
Jaycie Wegner - Special Events Coordinator
Jaycie Wegner takes over as UNF Athletics' special events coordinator, assisting in promoting, coordinating and conducting the execution of the department's many special events and fundraising efforts throughout the year. Wegner began assisting UNF earlier in the fall before assuming a full-time role in December.
Wegner comes from a position as event coordinator with the Len Mattiace Foundation in Jacksonville. Wegner helped coordinate large events, assisting in social media efforts, ticket sales and donations from the events.Â
The Florida native also brings experience from internships with the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour and the University Athletic Association Marketing Department at the University of Florida. Wegner also spent three years as a photographer with the Walnut Creek Country Club and had the opportunity to work as a game day ambassador with the Pro Bowl in 2020. Wegner earned her bachelor's of science from Florida in 2020.
"We are confident that Jaycie, Adam and Josh can help us take the Osprey Club to unprecedented heights and continue the strong momentum of UNF Athletics," Lisiewski said.
Josh Baker - Assistant Director of Development/Osprey Club
After rejoining UNF Athletics in January of 2020, Josh Baker is promoted to assistant athletic director of development in December of 2022. Like Polansky, Baker is a UNF graduate, earning his degree from North Florida in 2010 before serving as assistant director of athletic marketing at North Florida from 2010-16.Â
"Josh is a very proud UNF alum who has had tremendous success in fundraising and growing the donor base at UNF with innovative ideas and strategies," Lisiewski said.
Baker also had stops in marketing at Western Carolina, Kennesaw State and UNC Asheville before returning to UNF just under three years ago. Since his return, North Florida Athletics development has seen continued success, reaching new heights and generating greater fundraising numbers.
While a student and employee, Baker has helped to develop and grow the Osprey Nation brand. He also gained relevant experience as an arena operations assistant with the Orlando Magic (2010-11) and as a student manager for the UNF Basketball program (2007-10).
