UNF Athletics Unveils Completed CSI Companies Court

Teams Set to Host First Practices on the Court Oct. 24

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida Athletics is excited to unveil the completed CSI Companies Court at the UNF Arena, fit with a new wood floor, a fresh look, distinct logos and branding.

While not the first time that the UNF Arena floor has received a redesign, it is the first time in school history that a whole new floor has been placed. The previous wood floor was the original surface that was included in the construction of the UNF Arena back in January of 1993.

"I couldn't be more excited about the CSI Companies Court reveal," Director of Athletics Nick Morrow said. "The final product is spectacular. The logos, colors, and design emphasize the uniqueness of the Osprey brand.  I'm excited for our student-athletes and fans to experience the brand new floor and the other arena amenities that are also on the way. Swoop!"

News of the new floor was made public at a press conference held in the UNF Arena June 7 of this past summer. The floor is known as the CSI Companies Court, and it will feature the CSI Companies' logo, along with UNF's navy on the baselines and sidelines. Along the sidelines are a pair of Osprey talons, adding to the unique flair featured on the court.

Highlighted in the middle is the North Florida banner logo and a cutout of the state of Florida with a star symbolizing Jacksonville's location, as well as the local connection between North Florida and CSI Companies.

"CSI is extremely proud to partner with UNF and build upon both of our roots in the community," Chief Operating Office Kate Mays said. "We employ many Osprey alumni and UNF's tremendous growth trajectory is in line with ours. Together, we are well-positioned to create more opportunities for the Jacksonville workplace."

The first official practices held on the new floor are set for Monday, Oct. 24. The inaugural competition held on the CSI Companies Court is slated for UNF volleyball's match against Jacksonville Sunday, Nov. 6 at 5 p.m.

Construction of the floor began in early June and was completed in mid-October. The new design and playing surface were made possible by the partnership between UNF and the Jacksonville-based CSI Companies, the largest collaboration to date for the athletic department.

The partnership is a seven-year, $2.1 million agreement that features facility enhancements in addition to the new court. Other projects such as the construction of the Bank of England Suite and Hayt Osprey Outlook, as well as upgrades to the lighting and sound systems also accompany this partnership and construction of the CSI Companies Court.
