MATCH NOTES

Series History
UNF and Liberty are meeting for the fifth time … the two teams have faced off in each of the last four seasons, splitting the four contests … UNF is undefeated against the Flames in Jacksonville … UNF won, 1-0, thanks to a penalty kick goal from Thais Reiss in the 106th minute … each of the last three decisions against Liberty have been decided, 1-0 … the lone neutral site contest came April 15 of 2021 at Kennesaw State as the Flames won in the ASUN Championship Semifinals … UNF earned another 1-0 victory thanks to a goal from Reiss in the 98th minute all the way back in 2019.

Last Time Out
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -
North Florida women's soccer put forth 20 shots, but visiting Queens was able to squeak by unscathed as the Ospreys (4-6-2, 3-3-1 ASUN) played to a scoreless draw against the Royals (2-7-5, 2-4-2 ASUN) Thursday, October 13.

UNF dominated in the shots department, tallying 11 in the first half while only conceding two shots in each frame. Defense was key for UNF as Allyna Thurston and Averi Walraven both played the full 90 minutes, a season high for Walraven. Zara Siassi, Allie Fekany and Walraven all put up three or more shots each as the Ospreys piled the pressure on the Royals continuously.

Scouting Report
Liberty is riding a seven-match winning streak … LU is 11-3-2 on the year … the Flames are coming off a 2-1 win at Jacksonville Friday evening … Liberty got a pair of first half goals before permitting a Jacksonville PK in the 45th minute … the Flames held off the Dolphins late to prolong their winning streak … the Flames pace the league with 34 goals … Liberty's last loss came at Pittsburgh Sept. 11, a 3-2 decision … Liberty paces the league with 22 points, touting a 7-0-1 mark … Liberty was felled by EKU in the 2021 ASUN Championship Quarterfinals … Bridie Herman leads the ASUN with six assists … despite leading the league in goals, the Flames do not have a student-athlete in the top five of the conference for goals tallied … Ainsley Leja has tended the net for over 1,400 minutes this year, carrying all 16 team decisions in her ledger.

Cleaning Up Nicely
UNF has now spun consecutive shutouts as a team, while notching three in the last four contests … Sofia Miliancano is behind all three of those … she made a career-high 10 saves in the 1-0 road win against Austin Peay last Sunday … that was the most saves by a UNF keeper since 2016 … UNF and Queens played to North Florida's first scoreless draw of the year.

Creating Chances
UNF reached the 20-shot mark for the second time on the season this past Thursday against Queens … ironically, in both matches that saw UNF reach at least 20 shots, both ended in a draw … the first occurrence came at Winthrop Sept. 11 … North Florida only permitted four shots, two in each half, against Queens Thursday … UNF's wins against Jacksonville State and Austin Peay both saw UNF tally less than 10 shots.
