Flames Make Second Half Surge to Pull Ahead

LYNCHBURG, Va. - Carter Hendricksen scored a quick eight points to start the second half, cutting Liberty's lead to four, but the Flames (11-6, 2-0 ASUN) went on a run and didn't look back as UNF men's basketball dropped a road game at Liberty Arena, 71-56, Tuesday, Jan. 11.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
1st Half

The first half was a defensive struggle … teams combined to go just 5-for-22 from beyond the arc … UNF trailed by just a bucket for most of the first frame, but Liberty was unrelenting in getting to the free throw line, going 16-for-18 from the line … UNF (4-12, 0-3 ASUN) forced nine turnovers, while committing just two in the first frame … Carter Hendricksen and Jarius Hicklen had 5 points apiece.

2nd Half

Hendricksen found his rhythm at the start of the second half, scoring eight points in the first four minutes and 10 seconds, helping cut Liberty's lead to four at 38-34 … Liberty followed that up quickly by going on a 10-0 run to create a 48-34 lead at the 13:03 mark, the largest lead for either team up to that point … the Flames hung to its lead the rest of the way to notch their 43rd consecutive home win.
