Game Featured 10 Tie Scores and Seven Lead Changes
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - For the second consecutive ASUN home game, the game went down to the wire, and unfortunately for the Ospreys, the buzzer sounded with the visitors on top as UNF men's basketball was clipped, 54-51, by Jacksonville (11-4, 3-0 ASUN) Saturday, Jan. 15 in the first edition of the River City Rumble.
Dorian James hit a jumper in the paint to even the game at 49 with 2:30 on the clock, but JU's Tyreese Davis hit a go-ahead three-pointer with 1:08 that allowed the Dolphins to play in the driver's seat the rest of the way.
Carter Hendricksen scored on a second chance bucket with 26 seconds to go in the game to get within one, although Jordan Davis made both of his free throws to make it 54-51. North Florida (4-13, 0-4 ASUN) had the ball with just under three seconds left and got off a contested three-pointer that came up short.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
1st Half
- Emmanuel Adedoyin hit a three-pointer for the game's first bucket, putting UNF up just seconds into the game … JU scored the next two buckets and eventually went up 12-5 for its largest lead of the game and largest lead for either team on the evening … after a two-minute and 24-second scoring drought for both sides, Jadyn Parker made a jumper in the paint, completing a 7-0 UNF run, tying the game at 12-12 … both teams traded buckets the rest of the half … Jonathan Aybar hit a jumper, Adedoyin converted a layup and Jarius Hicklen hit two free throws for a 24-21 UNF lead heading to the break.
2nd Half
- The starters for both teams carried the load of the scoring for the second half … there were only two bench points in the second half … North Florida led for 10 minutes, while Jacksonville had the upperhand for five minutes and 50 seconds … UNF shot just 1-for-11 from beyond the arc and JU was only 1-for-5 … a Hicklen three-pointer rattled out with UNF ahead 37-31 with 12:43 remaining … had it went down, it would have been the largest advantage for either side all evening … JU got back into it with a mini-run from there, going on an 8-2 clip to tie it at 39-39 … the game would see four more tie scores before JU took the lead for good on Davis' three-pointer from the wing with 1:08 on the clock.
