
Mercedes Sapp Set to Participate in NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Training

JACKSONVILLE -- North Florida women's soccer standout Mercedes Sapp will participate in the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Training virtual session, June 17-18. Sapp was chosen after being nominated by UNF Athletics.
The 2021 summer Student-Athlete Leadership Training session will equip participating student-athletes with vital personal development skills that will serve them on and off the field of competition. The two-day virtual immersive leadership training will feature transformational keynote speakers, virtual community service, a small-group engagement focus, and impactful curriculum for attending student-athletes.
Sapp, a newcomer on the UNF roster in 2020-21 as a graduate transfer, garnered ASUN Goalkeeper of the Year, All-ASUN first team honors and second-team United Soccer Coaches All-Region accolades after leading the ASUN in GAA (0.61) and ranking second in Save Pct. (78.8%). She finished the season as a part of 10 wins including five shutouts while notching 26 saves.
