
Gabrelcik Advances to Final Ten on Haskins Award Watch List

ORLANDO -- The Final Haskins Award Watch List presented by Stifel was released by Golf Channel and Golfweek and North Florida freshman standout Nick Gabrelcik was among the 10 collegiate golfers named to the prestigious list.
The Fred Haskins Award, recognizes the player of the year in college men's golf, and is voted on by college golfers, coaches and members of the college golf media.
Gabrelcik wrapped up a stellar freshman campaign earning ASUN Player of the Year, ASUN Freshman of the Year, first team All-ASUN and ASUN All-Tournament honors. He was named the ASUN Golfer of the Week five times during the season. Along with his inclusion on the Haskins Award watch list, Gabrelcik is also a semifinalist for the Ben Hogan Award and was recently named a member of Team USA for the Arnold Palmer Cup.
A native of Trinity, Fla., Gabrelcik posted the lowest season stroke average in UNF program history at 69.59, highlighted by carding 18 of 27 competitive rounds under par. He finished the season eight Top 25 finishes including seven in the Top 10 capped by a trio of individual tournament crowns. Gabrelcik recorded 14 rounds in the 60s which ranks 10th on the Ospreys career list.

About the Fred Haskins Award:
Celebrating its 50th year, the Fred Haskins Award presented by Stifel has been given to players who have captured 31 major championships and more than 400 professional tournaments around the world. Past recipients include Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Ben Crenshaw, and Justin Thomas.  Sahith Theegala (Pepperdine) won the 50th Haskins Award in 2020. The Fred Haskins Award is the oldest individual college golf award and the only award to be voted on by players, coaches, golf SID's, and select golf media.
