
MATCH NOTES: Ospreys Head to FIU Sunday

JACKSONVILLE - After rain in the Jacksonville area and field conditions, North Florida men's soccer is now heading to No. 25 FIU Sunday at noon.
WHAT TO KNOW
- Senior LJ Estes earned the ASUN Defensive Player of the Week honor after winning 80 percent of his duels against Mercer.
- Sophomore Robbie Soronellas was named to the TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week after scoring the game-winner against Mercer. He hit a successful PK to lift UNF, 2-1, against Mercer.
- The Ospreys grabbed their first win of the season against Mercer with goals from Ale Rodriguez Lopez and Soronellas. UNF limited Mercer to seven shots including just three on target.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
The Panthers opened their season with two wins against No. 8 UCF and USF, by 2-0 in a pair of friendlies. The talented team, whose 2020 recruiting class ranks No. 16, has found success under first-year head coach Kyle Russell. Among FIU's returning players isAlessandro Campoy, the reigning C-USA Golden Boot Award winner and spring 2021 All-CUSA Preseason Team member.
SERIES HISTORY
FIU has the edge over UNF, leading the series with 4-2. The two teams last met in September 2019, and the game ended in a tie, 1-1.
