Women's Golf in Hunt at First Coast Classic After Weather Shortened Day One

FIRST TEE — Playing in the first of two home tournaments this spring, the North Florida women's golf team sits near the top in a tie for second after a weather-shortened day one of action in the First Coast Classic at Deerwood Country Club.

- Senior Sara McKevitt finished round one with a 2-under 70 and was 1-under par in the second round before play was halted
- Junior Daniela Gonzalez posted her best round of the season, an even-par 72, to start the day
- Freshman Kaitlynn Washburn and Jessie Cai both made their collegiate debuts, playing as individuals in the field
- When play was suspended, North Florida has collected 99 pars led by 23 for Eisenbeiss
- Ospreys recorded 19 birdies with five each from McKevitt and Gonzalez
