Women's Golf Paces Field after Halted Second Round Action at Palmetto Intercollegiate

FIRST TEE — No. 83-ranked North Florida women's golf team climbed to the top of the team leaderboard thru 33 holes of play of the Palmetto Intercollegiate. The Ospreys led after Monday's morning round and expanded their margin in round two before play was halted due to darkness. Second round action will resume at 9 a.m. on Tuesday followed immediately by the final round.

- Ospreys opening round 10-under 278 marked a program record low 18-hole score, eclipsing the previous best by two shots (280 shot earlier this year at Evie Odom Invitational)
- Fifth-year senior Mindy Herrick utilized her experience playing in her fourth Palmetto Intercollegiate, shooting an opening round 3-under 69, her lowest round score of the season | Herrick was also 3-under thru her second round action and is currently T3
- Senior Dani Gonzalez matched her teammate in the morning session with a 69, her second round in the 60s of the fall and ended her shortened second round T10
- Sophomore Christin Eisenbeiss is also T10 after a first round 2-under 70
- Senior Liss Davalos closed the day T16 after a first round 73 while sophomore Jessie Cai shot a 2-under 70 in her first competitive round on the UNF travel squad to round out the lineup
- North Florida saw four of its first players post under-par scores in the opening round
- UNF currently owns a 7-shot lead on the field
- Sam Houston State's Zulaikah Nasser heads the medalist standings at 8-under
