Senior Class to be honored in Pre-Meet Ceremony
JACKSONVILLE - North Florida swimming will host the inaugural dual meet of the season Saturday at 12 noon when the Ospreys go head-to-head with CCSA rival Georgia Southern in the UNF Competition Pool.
FROM THE STARTING BLOCK
- Georgia Southern and North Florida will meet in the pool for the second consecutive weekend as the Eagles were part of the six-team field in last weekend's Season Kickoff event at the UNF Competition pool
- Saturday's meet marks the final scheduled home event for the Ospreys
- Prior to the start of the meet, North Florida will hold a Senior Tribute ceremony for its seven senior swimmers: Makenzie Blaakman, Annie Fletcher, Kayla Glennon, Julianna Graf, Esther Quackenbush, Sydney Sheppard and Ryan Showfety
- North Florida returns 15 swimmers from last year's squad and welcomes a group of 12 freshmen to this year's team
- Head coach Ian Coffey is in his 8th season at the helm of the Osprey program
- Following the Georgia Southern dual, UNF will have almost a month off from competition before heading to Tallahassee on Oct. 30 for a quad meet against Florida State, West Florida and Florida Southern
"This is going to be our first dual meet at the new pool. Georgia Southern is a very good program and this meet will be exciting for our team and the fans. Always good to start off the season with a conference opponent. We will also be celebrating our seniors with a Senior Day Ceremony at the start of the meet."Head Coach Ian Coffey
