Tournament Run Closes at Top-Seeded FGCU

FORT MYERS, Fla. - North Florida women's basketball turned up the defense in the fourth quarter, but it was too late as the top-seeded FGCU grabbed a 73-57 win in the ASUN Semifinals Wednesday evening at Alico Arena.

- The first quarter was a slow start for both teams as it was FGCU leading 5-4 by the first media timeout. From there, the hosts used a 17-2 run to lead 22-7.
- North Florida got on a 7-2 run to close within 26-17, but the Eagles went on another run, this time 12-2 to take their biggest lead of the game 38-19.
- Bond closed out the half with a traditional three-point play to make it a 38-22 score at half.
- FGCU outscored the Ospreys 20-9 in the early goings of the third quarter to take its biggest lead of the game, 61-31.
- With the Eagles lead, 62-38 after three complete, North Florida started firing on both ends in the fourth using a 12-3 run to close the game to 66-53.Â
- In the final frame, UNF outscored FGCU, 19-11, holding FGCU to only three field-goals. The Ospreys shot 60 percent from long distance while the Eagles shot just 14.3 percent form long range in the fourth.

- Adrienne Jackson, Dasha Eremeeva, Victoria Patrick and Green finish their careers in the semifinals.
- Jackson had six points, seven rebounds, two assists and three steals. She finishes in the top 10 of the UNF record book in numerous categories.
- Eremeeva chipped in five points with three rebounds, while Patrick had two points and a block.
- UNF shot 37.5 percent from the floor to FGCU's 42.2 percent, aided by a 69 percent outing in the third quarter.
