  • The Hokies are coming off a 5-0 run at the Charleston Invitational. 
  • Darby Trull leads the team with a .400 average on 16 hits, three doubles, and seven RBI.
  • Kelsey Bennett has brought in 16 runners on 14 hits with a .341 average and four home runs.
  • Virginia Tech finished 47-11 last season and 20-4 in ACC, advancing to the NCAA Regionals. 

Purdue (12-3)
  • The Boilermakers are on a four-game winning street, beating Fairfield 9-5, 9-1 in a doubleheader at the UNCG Invitational.
  • Madison Douglass leads Purdue with a .472 average and 17 hits.
  • Skye Webb leads the team with 18 RBI and three home runs.
  •  Alex Echazarreta leads the pitching staff with a1.47 ERA in 57 innings pitched and 52 strikeouts. 

Stony Brook (5-0)
  • The Seawolves are 5-0 to open the season.
  • Jourdin Hering leads the squad with a .550 average, 11 hits and six RBI. 
  • Melissa Rarich has eight hits and RBI on a .471 average. 
  • Dawn Bodrug holds a .79 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 17.2 innings pitched. 
Akron (6-8)
  • The Zips split the Mercer Tournament, 2-2, last weekend. 
  • Sydney Jascoe leads Akron with 20 RBI and six home runs on 16 hits and a .372 average. 
  • Kayla Wulf holds the top average, .459, with 17 hits, five home runs and 10 RBI.
  • Adrian Smith leads the pitching staff with a 5.13 ERA in 45 innings pitched with 40 strikeouts.
