FLORENCE, Ala. - It was a back-and-forth in the ASUN opener with the North Florida women's basketball team coming up on the wrong side as the Ospreys fell short at North Alabama, 54-51, to open ASUN play Saturday at Flowers Hall.

INSIDE THE GAME
- The game saw 14 lead changes and three ties as neither team held more than a seven-point advantage at any time.Â
- North Alabama struck first before UNF went on an 8-0 run. The Lions answered with a pair of threes to take a lead just after the first media.
- From there the teams traded baskets with North Alabama leading 14-13 after one.
- In the second, neither team was productive as both teams only had two baskets each, however UNA's were both triples as the hosts owned a 20-18 lead into the half.
- The Lions created distance early in the third quarter, but the Ospreys went on a 5-0 run thanks to Janesha Green's three-point play to tie the game 26-all.
- From there the teams continued to trade baskets with the Ospreys holding a 34-33 lead after three.
- North Alabama took its biggest lead of the game, 43-36, but the Ospreys continued to chip away at the lead with a 13-5 run to lead 49-48.
- UNF then went cold from the floor, with Bond scoring the lone basket down the stretch. The Lions went 4-for-4 from the line to give them a 54-51 lead to take the conference opener.

- The 18 first half points were the second lowest output in 10 minutes. UNF scored just 14 against No. 8 Florida State (Dec. 18).
- This was the first meeting of Bond and sister Jaida on the hardwood. Jaida is a freshman at North Alabama.
- UNF held the Lions well below their season average of 89 points per game as well as holding them to just 29 percent shooting UNA was averaging 50 percent from the floor.
