JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - UNF continues CCSA Conference competition at Georgia Southern Saturday, Jan. 11.
1. LAST TIME OUT
North Florida swimming finished its first meet of 2020 with 16 top 10 finishes in the Florida Quad against the host Gators, Vanderbilt and Liberty Friday afternoon.
2. COFFEY TALK
"This will be the second time this season we will compete against Georgia Southern. We swam very well against them in October and we are looking forward to another very competitive meet against another CCSA opponent."
3. SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
GSU is coached by Amanda Caldwell.The Eagles currently sport a 2-8-1 record and are coming off a 121-88 win over Frostburg State on Monday, Jan. 6. In the win, Klaudia Holt led the Eagles with first-place finishes in the 200 free, 100 fly and 500 free.
4. STARTING THE NEW YEAR
In the Ospreys' search for their first meet victory of 2020, the squad has had some impressive individual performances in the Gainesville Meet earlier this month.
Sarah Trago notched her quickest time with 10:58.15 in the 1000 free and
Camryn Greenleaf placed in the top five after swimming the seventh fastest time of the season in the 100 free with a time of 53.54 in the 100 free.
5. AGAINST THE OPPONENT
UNF is 6-11 all-time against GSU and the Ospreys picked up a 169-85 win over the Eagles back in October. It was UNF's first win over the Eagles since 2013. 10 members of the team finished first in their events, scoring the most team points for UNF since 2009.
