ATLANTA - North Florida looks to continue its winning ways and get back on the field after more than a week off as it travels to Georgia State for a Monday evening match.
1. OVERTIME - The Ospreys are 1-0 thanks to an overtime goal from senior
Jake Hawker against USC Upstate. Hawker collected the ball off the crossbar from
Zane Bubb and sent home his first game-winner. Bubb fired a shot in the 92nd minute that bounced off the top of the goal right to Hawker to collect an assist on the goal.
2. HURRICANE WOES- Due to the projected forecast at the time, the Marist game was cancelled and the Ospreys had Saturday-Thursday off due to the weather in the Jacksonville area and the safety of the players.
3. FULL STRENGTH - North Florida looks to come back to full strength against Georgia State after the time off. Several players were out due to various ailments when UNF hosted USC Upstate.
4. GOOSE EGG -
Padraic Gilley and the Osprey defense put up a shutout for the first time since Oct. 29, 2016 - the same year UNF won its second straight ASUN Regular Season title.
5. SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Georgia State is 2-0-1 on the year, winning by a goal differential of 7-4. Aris Briggs owns five of those goals. Last season, the Panthers finished 11-6-3 and won the Sun Belt Tournament to earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament. GSU tied Charlotte in the opening round, but failed to advance has Charlotte went 3-0 on PKs.
