Over 300 children in Northeast Florida are currently undergoing cancer treatments, with 84% of those families experiencing some level of financial hardship.

Throughout Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, partners and supports of the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund, like the University of North Florida, will host fundraisers and events to benefit the Jay Fund and help further the foundation's mission to BE THERE for local families tackling childhood cancer. FAULCONER TALES
"We hope to finish off our five match home stand on a strong note. We did what we needed to against Western Carolina on Sunday and are looking to carry that momentum into Thursday's match versus South Carolina State. The coaching staff has been stressing the importance of keeping our focus for the entire match. This is something we need to do a better job of moving forward if we are going to have a strong finish to the second half of the season. We are excited to be partnering with the Tom Coughlin's Jay Fund for our childhood cancer awareness game on Thursday. We plan to make this an annual event and encourage our fans to come out, wear Gold and support the fight against cancer.

On Sunday, Liberty is a very strong team and unbeaten in their last four matches heading into this first weekend of conference play. They have played some very good team in the non-conference and we can see on film that they do a lot of things very well. They are very well coached. Midfielder Gabrielle Farrell is off to a flying start this season and they also have a good number of other players that can hurt us if we aren't on top of our game. This is a great opportunity at home for our program to pick up points in the standings against a team picked in the preseason Top 4. It should be a great battle on Sunday and we are excited to finally get into conference play." -- Head coach Eric Faulconer

About the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation

The Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation was created in 1996 in honor of Jay McGillis. Jay developed leukemia while playing for Coach Coughlin at Boston College. In the eight months between Jay's diagnosis and the day he lost his battle with cancer, the Coughlin family saw first-hand the physical, emotional and financial strains the illness caused the McGillis Family. Coach Coughlin vowed, if he ever had the chance, he would create a way to help families with children tackling cancer.

OUR MISSION is to help families tackle childhood cancer by providing comprehensive financial, emotional and practical support. From diagnosis to recovery and beyond, we are part of the team, allowing parents to solely focus on their child's well-being. Our goal is to BE THERE for parents facing the unthinkable so they can be there for their families.
