JACKSONVILLE - North Florida men's soccer heads out on the road for a non-conference contest at FIU before returning home to begin ASUN play.
1. LAST TIME OUT - The Ospreys lost a heartbreaker to Georgia Southern on Friday.
Jake Hawker scored his second goal of the season, but the Ospreys came up short as the Eagles tied the game three minutes after the goal. GSU then his the game-winner late in the second half and UNF was not able to answer.
2. ON THE OFFENSE - Senior
Jake Hawker continues to pace the UNF offense. He leads the team with two goals and has four shots on target. Redshirt junior
Cormac Begley is just behind with three.
3. SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
FIU moved to 4-0-1 on the year after beating FAU 6-1 on Saturday. The six goals were a season-high for the Panthers and one shy of the previous record set against St. Bonaventure. Stephen Afrifa and Alessandro Campoy each lead the team with three goals, while Campoy has also helped out on two to lead the team with eight points. Daniel Gigliardi is the main netminder and has a 1.34 GAA, having not given up more than one goal in each contest with the exception of Jacksonville. The Panthers tied that game,3 -3. Last season, the Panthers went 7-10 before being eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Conference USA tournament to Marshall.
