UNF Hosts Belmont, LIU and FIU
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - UNF hosts its second home invitational in as many weekends when it welcomes Belmont, LIU and FIU to the UNF Arena Friday and Saturday.

1. Last Time Out
TAMPA, Fla. - Gabby O'Connell posted the fourth-most kills in a four-set match in program history but the Bulls (3-3) were able to fend off the Ospreys (2-5)Tuesday, Sept. 10. The first three sets were decided, 25-23, with USF taking two of them, before South Florida had its strongest set in the fourth to close it out.Â
O'Connell was remarkable, tallying 25 kills on a .291 hitting percentage to give her 73 kills over her past four matches. Not to be lost in the shuffle was sophomore Solimar Cestero's night. The Toa Baja, P.R., native hit a career-high .524 en route to 13 kills.

Belmont currently leads the series, 8-1, with the first meeting, November 5th, 2015 … In the last meeting in 2011, the Belmont Bears defeated the Ospreys, 3-1, in Jacksonville … LIU and UNF have never met … The series with FIU is currently tied at 1-1. The Ospreys won the first meeting in Miami 3-1 August 28th, 2015 … The Panthers won the last meeting in Jacksonville, 3-1, September 10th, 2016.Â

Freshman Rocio Moro has been consistent in the early going, earning back-to-back all-tournament honors and an ASUN Freshman of the Week laurel … The Bayamon, P.R., native has tallied 132 digs and 5.28 digs/set, collecting over 20 digs three times this season … She currently leads the league in digs.

UNF's outside hitters went off last Tuesday at South Florida … Gabby O'Connell posted a career-high 25 kills, the fourth-most in a four-set match in program history … Sophomore Solimar Cestero notched a .524 winning percentage, the best of her career en route to 13 kills against the Bulls … Gabby O'Connell has notched two 20-kill matches already this season after posting 20 against Wake Forest Sept. 6.

Belmont comes into play 1-7 after falling to Lipscomb Tuesday night, 3-1 … The Bruins also lost to the ASUN's North Alabama, 3-1, August 30 … Belmont's lone win was a sweep of Alabama A&M … LIU is still looking for its first win of the season after starting off 0-6 … The Sharks are in their inaugural campaign after becoming a new university following the LIU Post and LIU Brooklyn merger … FIU is 2-3, although they have won two straight after defeating Stetson and Hofstra … The Panthers had a solid 2018, going 19-12 with a 9-5 record.
