JACKSONVILLE - North Florida softball continues ASUN action on the road as it travels to Lipscomb for a three-game series beginning on Saturday.

TEAM NOTES
- This is part of a seven-game road stretch for UNF. The team returns to Jacksonville on Saturday, April 6.
- North Florida (19-10, 2-1 ASUN) is coming off its opening weekend in Florence against North Alabama where it outscored the Lions 14-11.
- The Ospreys have 130 runs on the season - just three shy of all of the 2018 season. UNF also has recorded 122 RBI this season, while only tallying 127 last season.
- Sophomore Makenzie Griffin is currently riding a four-game reached base streak, while Navia Penrod is the on a team-best three-game hit streak.
- Senior Dominica Cocuzza had a 10-game hit streak going, but it was snapped at No. 3/4 Florida State.
- UNF currently has 14 home runs on the year, doubling last year's total. The 2017 squad, that broke several UNF offensive Division I records, hit 22 round trippers.
RECORD WATCH
- Penrod had no problem getting the UNF career record in hits as she now has 250 in her four seasons. Against North Alabama, the Naples, Fla., native went 7-for-11 against the Lions to secure the mark.
- Penrod is now chasing the ASUN career record (285) held by UCF's Stephanie Best.
- Classmate Dominica Cocuzza is chasing a few records of her own including doubles and RBI. She needs nine doubles to tie the school record held by Kelly Lee. Currently sitting at 115 RBI, Cocuzza is 28 behind Gwen Williams (2005-08) who has 143 for her career. Cocuzza currently has 26 on the season.
SERIES HISTORY
- Lipscomb leads 20-13 and is 10-5 on its home field.
- North Florida has won just two games in the past two series, but claimed the 2016 series against the Bisons.

Lipscomb (21-11-1, 1-2 ASUN)
- The Lady Bisons are 2-4 in their six five games, but prior to that had won six straight. On the season, Lipscomb has shut out six teams.
- Most recently, Lipscomb beat Tennessee Tech, 8-3, in a midweek game.
- Jordan Fortel leads all hitters with her .422 average and team-best 43 hits. She has also scored 26 runs and knocked in 29 to tie for first in RBI.
- Hannah Devault also has 29 RBI thanks to 11 doubles and six home runs. She is batting .287.
- In the circle, Mandy Jordan is 8-6 on the year with a 2.47 ERA. She has fanned 96 batters in her 90.2 innings pitched.
- Her counterpart, Katie Turner is 8-2 on the season with 50.1 innings tossed and a 3.06 ERA.
LOOKING AHEAD
North Florida returns to Jacksonville to kick off three straight weekends of ASUN play. Kennesaw State comes to town first beginning on Saturday, April 6 for the three-game series. Saturday and Sunday begin at 1 p.m.
