JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - UNF travels south to take on Albany, Purdue, Georgetown, Manhattan, and Siena at Pinellas Park in the Madeira Beach Tournament.
UNF hasn't competed in Madeira Beach since the 2016 season when the Ospreys went 2-3, picking up wins over Villanova and Manhattan.

So Far in 2019
- The 2019 season's first three games saw UNF play three ranked opponents in No. 21 Minnesota, No. 24 Ohio State and No. 4 Florida.
- The Ospreys hosted the UNF Invitational from Feb. 15-17 as they won games against Colgate, South Dakota State, Northern Iowa, and The College of Charleston.
- The Ospreys nearly swept its five-game UNF Invitational, going 4-1 before UNI took the weekend finale.
Clutch Cocuzza
- Senior Dominica Cucuzza was the epitome of clutch during the UNF Invitational.
- The outfielder hit .684 (13-for-19), registering nine RBI, a double, triple, grand slam, three runs and a slugging percentage of 1.000.
- She posted a .692 average with runners on base, seven two-out RBI and a game-tying grand slam in the bottom of the seventh inning to erase a 7-3 deficit against South Dakota State.
- She went on to earn ASUN Player of the Week honors February 18.
New Birds
- Freshman hurler Morgan Clausen spun a complete game in her first ever appearance. The Arvada, Colo., native allowed only three runs in a loss against Ohio State Feb. 9.
- The Ospreys have 7 freshman on the squad, most by a single freshman class since 2011.

Scouting the Opponents
Albany
- The Great Danes will be making their season opener vs UNF on Friday, Feb. 22.
- Albany finished 32-16 last year, going 17-5 in the America East Conference league play.
- Albany returns 15 letterwinners from last year, losing only three players from the 2018 season.
- 2018 America East Coach of the Year, Chris Cannata and senior America East Pitcher of the Year, Chelsea Henige both return as University of Albany was voted preseason champs of the America East Conference.
Purdue
- Purdue is 3-4 coming into the weekend after losing three out of their past four games.
- The Boilermakers topped Pittsburgh (13-9) in extra innings, Central Michigan (11-3) and Saint Francis (6-2).
- Purdue has three players hitting .400 or higher in the early going this season. Kasey Wilhoit headlines that group, hitting .400 with five RBI and ten hits on the season.
- The Boilermakers finished 16-40 last season, going 7-15 in The Big Ten.
Georgetown
- Georgetown is 2-7 after opening the year at the 2019 Boyd Gaming Rebel Classic. The Hoyas had a rough weekend as they lost games to Seattle, BYU, UNLV, and UC Davis in extra innings.
- Savannah Jones is leading the way for the Hoyas as she earned Big East weekly honors.
- Pat Conlan enters her 14th season at the helm of Georgetown Softball. Over the past four seasons Coach Conlan has led the Hoyas to 51 Victories and 23 BIG EAST weekly recognitions.
Manhattan
- The Jaspers open up their 2019 campaign when they play Georgetown on Friday, Feb. 22 at 1:30 p.m.
- Manhattan finished 28-25 last year, going 10-10 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
- Infielder Lauren Pitney was awarded to the Preseason MAAC Team for the second consecutive year.
Siena
- The Saints start their season Friday, Feb. 22 at 4 p.m. as they take on Cornell in Madeira Beach.
- Siena finished 18-26 last year, going 13-7 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
- Senior first baseman Madysen Cossack was selected to the 2019 Preseason All-MAAC Team for the second consecutive season. The Saints were picked to finish fifth in the MAAC Preseason Coaches Poll.
