CKSONVILLE, Fla. - UNF cleaned up in doubles, dug deep in singles and eventually overcame visiting Buffalo, 5-2, to complete a home-opening weekend sweep Sunday, Feb. 10, from the UNF Tennis Complex.
Against Our Opponents
- North Florida is 10-5 against FGCU in a series that dates back to 2008. These two teams continue to be ASUN foes.
- This is the first meeting between these two teams since UNF's 5-2 victory, March 2, 2018.
Taking Inventory
- North Florida returns five from last year's ASUN Championship team.
- Seniors Sahil Deshmukh and Till Von Winning are the top wins leaders from last year. Deshmukh went 19-13 and Von Winning went 16-13, both in singles play. Together they were 15-8 in doubles.
- Dominik Barton is the team's only freshman. He received the ASUN Men's Tennis Player of the Week honor for January 17.
- Barton has a team-best 5-2 record in dual competition this spring.
- UNF has two transfers in sophomore Jorge Nunez (Denver) and junior Federico Nani (Florida A&M).

- FGCU has played four matches leading to their upcoming competition with UNF. They have fallen in three of those four matches, losing to USF, Grand Canyon, and FAU.
- The Eagles celebrated a 5-2 victory against Sacramento State in Phoenix, January 26th.
- Head coach CJ Weber was named the Southeast Region Wilson/ITA Coach of the Year and the ASUN Coach of the Year in 2015 following FGCU's NCAA Tournament appearance.
- The Eagles ended 2015 ranked No. 75, the program's first time in the national rankings.
