ASUN Semifinals Slated for Sunday

ATLANTA - North Florida came back from a 2-0 deficit late tin the second half against Liberty and scored two goals in 82 seconds to send the game to overtime. From there, the Ospreys converted a PK to advance to the ASUN semifinals for the first time since 2015.

No. 3 North Florida (6-7-2, 3-2-1 ASUN) faces off with second-seeded FGCU at 1 p.m. Sunday.

QUICK HITS
- The Ospreys claimed the No. 3 seed for the second-straight season and collected their first victory in tournament play since claiming the title in 2015 in the first-round victory over No. 6 Liberty.
- North Florida is participating in its fifth ASUN Semifinal match in program history; UNF has made the final match three times previously (2013-15).
- As a team, the Ospreys have the best defense in the league allowing only 17 goals on the year.
- North Florida qualified for its seventh-consecutive ASUN Championship this season and its eighth all-time with a combined record of 7-6-0 in program history.
- Jake Hawker and LJ Estes earned ASUN All-Conference second team honors, while Herbie Steigelman, Robbie Soronellas and Bendeguz Burka were named to the ASUN All-Freshman squad.

OPPONENT NOTES
- FGCU is the No. 2 seed for the fourth consecutive season with its last two titles in 2014 and 2016 as the second-seeded team in the tournament.
- Historically, the second-seeded team is 22-7-5 with 10 titles in non-divisional tournament play and has won four of the last six trophies.
- Despite FGCU and North Florida qualifying in the same championship seven years, this will only be the third time the two teams have faced each other in the tournament with the series tied 1-1-0.
- In the last six years, the No. 2 seed has an 8-1-1 record in the ASUN Championship with FGCU being 4-1-1 in those 10 matches.

In the other side of the bracket, Stetson and NJIT play at 3 p.m. Sunday in Newark.
