GAINESVILLE, Fla. - UNF men's tennis saw itself advance in the main draws of both doubles and singles play of the ITA Southeast Regionals Friday from the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Courts at the University of Florida.
The doubles pair of
Federico Nani and
Nilo Duarte defeated Luis Fernandez-Labarta and Hunter Robbins of Florida Atlantic to move on in the Doubles Main Draw.
Joe Ellis lost for the first time on the weekend but sophomore
Dominik Barton advanced in the Singles Main Draw with a grind-it-out victory against Vale Duarte of the host Gators.
Duarte and Nani will continue play tomorrow on court three and Barton has his first serve set for 8:30 a.m. tomorrow from court one.

Coach Lucas' Comments
"We saw some great fighting spirit and a resiliency today which I'm proud of," head coach
Matt Lucas said. "With Dominik being down 4-0 in the final set and then fight off three match points was just a gritty effort. We need to see that more consistently and that's what we are striving towards. Joe had a tough start but kept in there and had a chance to push his match to a third set. I feel if he gets that second set then his teeth are into the match and I like his chances. Fede and Nilo played solid doubles and we have a great opportunity tomorrow to reach the quarterfinals. We are still here and the guys are hungry to take these chances we've created."
