JACKSONVILLE - North Florida swimming hosts its Senior Day and welcomes Georgia Southern to the Bolles pool for the final home meet of the season.
1. SENIOR SENDOFF
North Florida has a long season ahead, but the Ospreys will celebrate Jacqueline Barkland,
Sarah Frantz,
Sydney Mutschler,
Ally Schillinger and
Zoe Trenz before the meet on Saturday.
"This is a very good group of seniors. They have all improved throughout their years and have made their mark on this program with leadership and multiple school records," said head coach
Ian Coffey. "This group will be missed, but we still have a lot of season left to continue their legacy."
2. COFFEY TALK
"This meet is going to be very competitive. Georgia Southern is a good team from our conference. We are looking for our first win against them since 2013. Our team has been training hard over the past two weeks and we are looking to see results on Saturday."
3. SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
The Eagles have five total meets under their belts including meets against UNC Asheville, Campbell and FGCU - all who compete in the CCSA. Georgia Southern has had three straight fourth-place finishes at the league meet. Prior to 2017, GSU had finished third five straight years.
Melissa Cox finished first for GSU against Campbell and FGCU in the 50 free. Isabelle Bray placed second in the 200 IM, while Emily Jones was third in the 1000 Free. In the 100 free, Holland Danskin placed second.
