The Facts: Matches at Stetson, Jacksonville Await Volleyball

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - UNF volleyball has a pair of short trips to make this weekend when it goes to Stetson Friday and across town Sunday to face Jacksonville. First serve Friday is set for 6 p.m. from DeLand, while UNF and JU go head-to-head at 1 p.m.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - UNF's offense was powerful and efficient Saturday night as the Ospreys hit .400 en route to a sweep of visiting NJIT (1-18, 0-4 ASUN) Oct. 5 from the UNF Arena.
Sophomore Solimar Cestero paced the Ospreys (7-11, 1-3 ASUN) behind 15 kills and .464 hitting, while Gabby O'Connell and Taryn Griffey also hit above .400 respectively.

2. Series History
UNF and Stetson are familiar foes, having met 29 times and 13 times in DeLand … The Ospreys lead the all-time series, 21-8, despite dropping two matches to the Hatters last season … The Ospreys are 6-4 over their last ten against SU … UNF leads the all-time series, 10-3, when playing in DeLand … UNF and JU have faced off 37 times, with the Ospreys leading 20-17 … The two teams have split the last 10 meetings … North Florida is 7-10 when playing JU at Swisher Gymnasium … The Ospreys lead the series, 13-10, when they've met as conference foes.

3. Solimar Settling In
Sophomore Solimar Cestero has settled in on the outside this season and is coming off one of her best performances as an Osprey Saturday. The outside uncorked 15 kills on .464 hitting while providing six digs. Solimar has notched at least 10 kills in 10 of her 15 matches, and posted a career high 16 against FIU September 14. On six occasions she has tallied at least .300 hitting.

4. An Ace Up Our Sleeve
The serve has been a secret weapon for the Osprey offense this season. UNF has notched 90 aces, second in the league. Freshman Julianna Askew has accounted for many of those, posting 28, good for second in the ASUN. Sophomore Alessia Venturelli has tallied 21, sixth most in the conference.

5. Scouting Report
