Fort Myers, Fla. – The North Florida baseball team used an all-around strong performance from the start to the finish to pick up a 16-1 win on Sunday and completed the three-game sweep of FGCU at Swanson Stadium in ASUN play.
LEADING OFF
- The Ospreys were led offensively by
Chris Berry,
Jay Prather and
Abraham Sequera as each had three hits to pace UNF as the Ospreys were one hit off their season-high set against Memphis on March 17.

Blake Voyles,
Rey Gonzalez and
Chris Matthias each added a pair of hits, while
Tanner Murphy and
Mac Wilson had one hit apiece in the win.
- Junior
Brad Deppermann threw a career-high 8.0 IP of shutout baseball as he struck out a career-best eight, while only allowing four hits.
- Berry's third inning homer was his second of the season and Prather's homer in the ninth was his third of the year.
- The Ospreys have now taken back-to-back sweeps over FGCU and have swept the Eagles for the first time in school history as the series dates back to 2008.
- In the ninth inning, the Ospreys had a season-high nine run frame to secure the victory. It marks the ninth time this season that UNF has had 5 runs in an inning and the second time its occured this weekend.
- UNF had a season-high 16 runs scored in the contest and its the sixth time this year that the Ospreys have scored 10 in a game.
- As a team UNF hit .317 for the series against FGCU.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- UNF got on the board in the second as Prather lined a double down the right field line to plate Voyles and give the Ospreys the 1-0 lead. Gonzalez on the ground out to short scored Wilson to make it 2-0.
- In the third, North Florida extended its lead with a solo shot to right center off the bat of Berry that made it 3-0.
- Sequera in the fourth lined a single back up the middle to score Prather and make it 4-0 UNF.
- In the sixth,
Chris Matthias added a sacrifice fly to make it 5-0 before Sequera lines a single to make it 6-0.
- Berry extended the Ospreys lead to 7-0 with an RBI single in the eighth scoring Gonzalez.
- North Florida in the ninth added nine runs as Prather led the inning off with a solo homer to right center to make it 8-0.
- Sequera with an RBI single and Board reaching on a fielder's choice scoring Matthias made it 10-0.
- Murphy and Voyles with back-to-back RBI singles made it 12-0.
- The Ospreys added four more runs finished off by Gonzalez's two-run single to make it 16-0.
- FGCU got on the board in the ninth with a sacrifice fly to center that made it 16-1 final score.
