Ospreys Claw Back and Draw with UConn

STORRS, Conn. – The North Florida men's soccer team fought back to draw Connecticut, 2-2, on Saturday at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium.
The Ospreys (1-3-1), returned to the pitch after 10 days rest due to Hurricane Irma, while the Huskies (2-2-2), netted the first two goals of the game within 35 second of each other.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Petridis sent in a cross from the right side of the field into the 18-yard box. Thiam collected the ball and found the back of the net for the first goal of the game.
- Thiam then went one-on-one with UNF goalie Juanes Fajardo and extended the lead to 2-0.
- Fajardo recorded two breakaway saves to keep the Huskies lead to a minimum heading into the locker room.
- Smoak struck a free kick in the middle of the field from 45 yards out that hit the right side of the net for the Ospreys' first goal of the game.
- Castellanos crossed the ball from the far post that was finished by Nicholson for the equalizer.

"The game was definitely a tale of two halves. Juanes made some huge saves in the game on a number of occasions. I thought some guys came in off the bench and really helped us get back in the match. Solid effort to take us into next week's match against USF."

- Shots between the two teams were even at 12 apiece. UConn held the shots on goal advantage at 10-8.
