
Men's Soccer Hosts Georgia Southern on Friday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The North Florida men's soccer team looks to bounce back against Georgia Southern on Friday after splitting a pair of games in the Mike Gibbs Tournament last weekend.
UNF netted two late goals in their 3-2 loss to UNCW and hope to ride that momentum into the matchup with the Eagles.

Series History
GSU owns a 5-4-1 lead in the overall series between the two teams, while UNF took two of the last three meetings. The two played one game a year between 2005 and 2012, before resuming the series in 2015. Each team has won on their own turf since resuming the series.

About the Ospreys
North Florida (1-1-0) knocked off Campbell, 2-0, in the season opener, before falling to UNCW, 3-2, in the Mike Gibbs Tournament last weekend. Micah Smoak scored the first goal of the season for the Ospreys, before Adrian Nunez netted the final three goals of the weekend.

With his three goal performance, Nunez was named the first ASUN Conference Player of the Week. Nunez also sits tied for third in the nation for total goals.
Scouting the Competition
The Eagles (0-2-0) narrowly fell to each Monmouth and Furman, 1-0, in the College of Charleston Tournament last weekend. Blake Wilson led GSU with five shots in the weekend with two shots on goal. Georgia Southern outshot Monmouth 12-9 in the game and held a 4-2 shots on goal advantage.
