The short story:Â Against a field of 43 squads, the largest field in a single collegiate golf tournament, the North Florida women's golf team wrapped up opening round action in a tie for 9th following a team score of 300 (+12). UNF played their opening round at Osprey Point Golf Club.

FIRST TEE
- Freshman Sydney Shrader followed up her first career round under par with a 2-over 74 on Monday to rank tied for 10th in medalist competition at 145 (+1)
- Seniors Megan Wilshire (80) and Nathalie Nygren (79) are currently tied for 76th at 154
- Courtney Cobb (85) and Teresa Conroy (79) rounded out the Osprey lineup for the event
- Fellow freshman Sydney Merchant, who is playing in the event as an individual, carded a second round 84 and sits in a tie for 146th at 160

*The 2017 edition of the Edwin Watts / Kiawah Island Spring Classic has expanded to 43 teams in this year's field and will be played for the third time in its history at Osprey Point at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort on Kiawah Island, S.C. Two courses are used for the three-day, 54-hole tournament including Oak Point. After 36 holes of play, the Top 22 teams will play for the championship at Osprey Point during the final round, while teams 23-43 will play for a flight championship at Oak Point.
