Ospreys Travel to Mississppi State's February Freezer

STARKVILLE, Miss. - North Florida continues its road trip over in Mississippi as it takes part in the February Freezer hosted by Mississippi State.

  • Following the first three games of the February Freeze, the teams will be seeded based on records. Game times will be determined based on seeding with a consolation/tournament championship match to be played on Sunday.
  • Despite dropping a 2-0 decision at Alabama on Wednesday, the three hits from Logan Green was a season-low for games with more than 2.0 innings pitched.
  • Junior Macayla Kelley was named the ASUN Player of the Week for her outstanding performance during the Osprey Invitational where she batted .542.
  • The Ospreys are leading the league in hits with 102 and are third in doubles with 16.
  • As a team, the Ospreys are hitting .305 which is fourth in the conference.

  • Individually, the Bulldogs are led by Reggie Harrison and the pitching of Alexis Silkwood. Harrison, who paces the squad with a .429 clip, .667 slugging percentage and .556 OBP.
  • Silkwood owns a perfect 5-0 record to go along with a 0.83 ERA and 19 strikeouts.
  • The MSU senior currently stands just eight strikeouts away setting the new school record for career Ks and seven wins from becoming the winningest pitcher in MSU history.
  • The Bulldogs wrapped up a 3-1 showing last week at the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge in Mexico. MSU closed out the week with the best record amongst the five teams, defeating No. 21 Fresno State, Texas Tech and ASUN foe FGCU.

  • Kayla Bear led the team over the weekend recording 11 hits and 10 runs scored. Bear had two four-hit games during the invite including two home runs and one double.
  • The two teams just met a week ago in the final day of the Osprey Invite with EIU taking the extra-inning win.
