KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the first time in program history, North Florida women's soccer freshman Thais Reiss was named to the United Soccer Coaches Association All-Southeast Region Third Team.
Reiss becomes the first Osprey in the Division I era to garner the All-Region recognition. UNF had 23 previous selections in Division II.
"This is a wonderful honor for Thais and well deserved," said head coach Robin Confer. "She had a fantastic freshman season and looking forward to see her continued growth and contributions to our program."
One of four freshman recognized with the all-region honors, Reiss was the ASUN Freshman of the Year.  The Curitiba, Brazil native owned six goals and an assist to lead the team with 13 points. She was the first freshman since the 2010 season to record six goals and was also the first to score three game-winning goals since 2010. At the end of the regular season, Reiss led the league in shots and ranked 35th in the country in that category.
North Florida finished its season in the ASUNÂ Quarterfinals and with a 9-6-1 mark. The nine wins were the most since the 2011 season.Â
