Swimming Opens 2017-18 Season with Tri Meet

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The North Florida swim team begins its 2017-18 season on Saturday afternoon against FIU and Georgia Southern at Bolles School.

New Beginnings
Both the Ospreys and Georgia Southern will compete in their first dual meets of the season. FIU took down Miami (Fla.), 164.5-115.5, in its home season opener. Sarah Frantz and Ally Schillinger are the only two Ospreys who have raced competitively, participating in last month's College Swimming Coaches Association of America Open Water Championships in Kansas.
 
Fresh Recruits
In the offseason, head coach Ian Coffey added depth to his roster, welcoming 10 freshman to the 2017-18 squad.
 
Raising the Bar
The North Florida swim program reached new heights last season breaking three school records and entered 13 new times in the program's all-time top 10 list.
 
Up Next
North Florida hosts its second of three-straight home meets to start the season against Vanderbilt on Oct. 12 at noon.
