SHORT STORY: Kennesaw State upset regular-season champion Lipscomb on the final day of the regular season to edge North Florida for the fourth seed. UNF topped the Owls, 3-1, in the only previous postseason meeting between the teams.

Krista Colubiale beat a defender in the middle of the field and took the ball to the right side of the field. She found freshman
Thais Reiss in the middle unguarded where Reiss fired home her sixth goal of the season into the upper left side of the goal.
ASUN TOURNAMENT HISTORY
The last time North Florida was the fifth seed came in 2011 with UNF owning a 1-1 mark from that spot. The Ospreys are 2-5 all-time in the ASUN tournament with their highest seeding coming in 2010 as No. 3.

The two teams have played each other one time in the postseason with UNF taking home the 3-1 win.
POSTSEASON HONORS
For her outstanding performance,
Thais Reiss was named the ASUN Freshman of the Year - just the second time in Osprey history that the team has earned the honor. Reiss along with
Amber Jones and
Andrea Sanchez earned All-Freshman honors, while Reiss and
Krista Colubiale garnered All-ASUN second team.
NATIONAL RANKS
Freshman
Thais Reiss is 32nd in the nation in shots per game (3.92) and 68th in shots on goal per game (1.69). Keeper Rhiannon Connelley is 71st in the nation with her six shutouts and is second in the conference.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
- Kennesaw State enters the weekend seeking its second ASUN Tournament title and first since 2009. The Owls are also looking to advance to the semifinals for the second consecutive season after posting a 4-1 quarterfinal victory over Jacksonville in 2016.
- Senior defender Abby Roth earned ASUN First Team All-Conference honors, alongside leading scorer Ashtah Das collecting Second Team All-Conference honors.
- Das owns four goals and two helpers, while Roth and Isabella Contreras each have three goals and one assist.
- In the goal, Tiffany Sornpao has stepped up with a 1.17 GAA with 53 saves and six shutouts.
- Nine different Owls have found the back of the net this season.
UP NEXT
With a win, North Florida would head to Lipscomb to take on the Bisons at 8 p.m., next Friday, Nov. 3. Lipscomb earned the No. 1 seed in the tournament after taking down defending champion FGCU during the regular season.
