Bisons Blank Ospreys in ASUN Play

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida volleyball was unable to get its momentum rolling as visiting Lipscomb came to town and blanked the Ospreys, 3-0 (-18, -20, -22) in ASUN action on Friday evening in UNF Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The match overall featured 24 total tie scores and 10 lead changes. In the first set alone, there were 10 tie scores lasting up until 12-12 when Lipscomb used a 7-2 run to take a lead it never relinquished. North Florida had just five kills in the opening set and hit .033.
The second frame saw UNF race out to a 7-3 lead, but battled back to take seven of the next 10 points to tie it at 10. A Lipscomb attack error, kill from freshman Gabby O'Connell and a Bisons service error put the set back in UNF's favor, 13-2. It was the final lead for the home team though as Lipscomb got on a 6-3 run to jump ahead and never look back.Â
In the final frame, the team's battled through the first 24 points before the Ospreys took a 17-14 lead on a back-to-back kills, forcing the Bisons to call a timeout. North Florida held the lead, 19-15, but Lipscomb rattled ff the next six points on Brittany Thomas' serve to take a 22-19 lead. UNF got back in the game with a kill from Katarina Raicevic and another Bisons miscue, but it was not enough as the Bisons took the match on the Ospreys' service error.
COMING UP
North Florida hosts Kennesaw State on Saturday at 5 p.m. The Owls are coming off a match against Jacksonville on Friday.
