Weekend Recap: On opening weekend, the Ospreys went 0-1-1, dropping a 7-0 decision to Miami and playing North Georgia to a 0-0 draw. Last Friday night the Hurricanes scored four, first-half goals to vaulting them to a 2-0 start to the season. Hurricane forward Kristina Fisher who scored twice in the contest went on to win NSCAA National Player of the Week. In Sunday's defensive juggernaut, Osprey goalkeepers
Susie Ford and
Victoria Ekeli combined for the team's first shutout of the season. The duo totaled seven saves in 110 minutes of action.
Historic Performance: Goalkeeper
Susie Ford made 13 saves in her 2016 debut, tied for the second most in a single game in the program's D-1 era. Ford has started both games in net for the Ospreys this season and has compiled 15 saves, the second most in the ASUN.
Last Meeting: It will mark the second-straight season that Georgia Southern and North Florida have met. The Ospreys came away with a 1-0 victory thanks to a successful penalty kick attempt from
Sarah Wasser. Charleston Southern and North Florida have only met once and that occurred back in 2014. A first half goal by Chelsea Lavatori proved to be the difference in a 1-0 Eagle victory.
About Georgia Southern: The Eagles have allowed six goals in two games following losses to UNC Wilmington and Jacksonville State last weekend. The lone Georgia Southern goal this season was scored by Alana McShane in the second half against Jacksonville State. The Eagles are coming off a 6-11-2 season and were picked to finish seventh in the Sun Belt Conference Preseason Coaches Poll. Head Coach Brian Dunleavy returns five starters from a year ago including Jennifer Wittick who led the team with 11 goals and garnered preseason Sun Belt Conference honors.

The two Elon second-half goals happed 19 seconds apart in the 65
