Box Score JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's tennis squeezed out three singles victories, but it was not enough as FGCU topped the Ospreys, 4-3, on Thursday evening at the UNF Tennis Courts.

No. 71 UNF drops to 3-2 in the Atlantic Sun, while FGCU improves to 5-0 in the league. Both teams have one more match before the conference championship against Stetson. FGCU faces off with the Hatters on Saturday before UNF travels to DeLand to take on Stetson on Saturday, April 16.

The No. 1 doubles of Jack Findel-Hawkins and Julian Bradley cruised to a 6-3 victory to open the match, but it was the Eagles who grabbed the point in the No. 3 spot. In the No. 2 spot, Lucas Vaz and Ricky Ventura eeked out a 7-5 victory for the Eagles to grab the doubles point.

Freshman Sahil Deshmukh defeated his counterpart, 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 4 position to even the score, before sophomore Lasse Muscheites put North Florida outfront with a 6-2, 7-6 (5) win in the No. 2 match.

FGCU then evened the score with a victory in the No. 5 position. Findel-Hawkins grabbed his hard fought three-set win, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2, in the No. 1 position giving UNF a 3-2 lead with two matches left to play. With the No. 3 and No. 6 courts in the third set, it was up to the Ospreys to take one of them, but it went to their foes.

After Vaz got the win for the Eagles in the No. 6 spot, all eyes turned to Bradley in his final match at home. After picking up a first-set win, the senior dropped the second frame, but responded by battling back in the third. However, FGCU's Ezequiel Cerrini buckled down and forced the third set to a tiebreaker where he was victorious and gave the Eagles the 4-3 win. 

UNF takes just over a week off before facing off with the Hatters which will end up determining its seed in the conference tournament.
