JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The North Florida Softball team travels to Kennesaw State for a three-game conference series this Saturday and Sunday.
The Ospreys (12-18, 1-2 A-Sun) are coming off a 13-day break since their last game, a loss to Stetson in their A-Sun opening series. A planed doubleheader with FAMU for Wednesday was postponed until next Wednesday.
Kennesaw State (20-13, 4-2 A-Sun) currently sits in first in the conference standings.
North Florida's offense is led by senior
Shelby Duncan and freshman
Navia Penrod. Duncan ranks first on the team in batting average (.372), doubles (11), RBIs (22) and slugging percentage (.543). Duncan also ranks third in the conference in batting average and first in doubles.
Penrod leads the team in hits (36) and on-base percentage (.405) while ranking second on the team in batting average (.356). Penrod ranks seventh in the A-Sun in batting average and ninth in hits.
The Ospreys' bullpen features juniors
Katie Beth Gordon and
Logan Green. Gordon leads the team in ERA (2.74), while Green leads the team in innings pitched (36) and strikeouts (36).
