Busy Conference Schedule Ahead for @OspreyMTen

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's tennis has a busy week ahead as it hosts three conference schools to continue Atlantic Sun play with Lipscomb coming to town first on Thursday at 6 p.m. Kennesaw State then comes to Jacksonville on Saturday for a 2 p.m. match before a 10 a.m. match against NJIT on Sunday.

The Ospreys are coming off a 1-1 weekend at the USF Quad Tournament where they unfortunately had a match canceled against nationally-ranked USF on Saturday. UNF is 5-9 on the year and 0-1 in conference action. The line up is now back to full strength as junior Jack Findel-Hawkins returned to play after missing matches since February 9. In dual matches, Lass Muscheites leads the way with eight wins, while Yannick Zuern is close behind with seven. In doubles action, Muscheites and Zach Goldberg are riding a five-match win streak and boast an 8-3 dual match record including a 5-1 mark in the No. 1 position.

Kennesaw State is currently 8-5 on the year and heads to Stetson before facing the Ospreys. The Owls most recently dropped a 4-3 decision to FGCU. Simon Pritchard leads the team with six wins in the No. 1 spot, while Manuel Castellanos is 4-2 in the No. 2 spot. In doubles play, Kennesaw has used 11 different pairs during dual match play. Castellanos and Pritchard lead the way with a 4-0 mark , while David Durham and Drew Wendel are 5-3 in duals. UNF owns a 7-0 mark against KSU with the Ospreys shutting out the Owls 4-0 in 2015.

The Bisons enter the contest 6-7 overall after dropping their conference opener to defending A-Sun Champion FGCU on Friday, March 25. Lipscomb then dropped its second match in as many days with a 4-2 loss against Eastern Kentucky. Rob Mitchell currently leads the team with a 7-3 mark in the No. 1 position and is 3-0 in doubles with Alejandro Manzanares. UNF owns a 9-0 mark against Lipscomb, dating back to the 2007 season. Last time the teams met in Jacksonville, the Ospreys won, 5-2 in 2014.

NJIT enters the weekend with an 8-3 mark overall and 0-1 in conference after Stetson snapped a six-match win streak for the Highlanders. The Hatters grabbed a 4-3 victory on March 26. NJIT will face off with FGCU on March 31 before heading north to face the Ospreys. Markus Schultz paces the team with an 8-3 record in No. 1 singles, while pairing with Arnuad Holl for the same record in the No. 1 doubles position. The Highlanders are still trying to figure out their line up as six different pairs have played in the No. 3 spot. This will be the first meeting between the two teams.

After this busy weekend, North Florida prepares for a rematch of the Atlantic Sun Championship match against FGCU on Thursday, April 7 at 6 p.m.
