SORRENTO, Fla. -- Bolstered by one of the best final rounds of the event, the North Florida women's golf team finished fourth in a field of 20 teams on Tuesday in the Citrus Challenge hosted by Morehead State at Red Tail Golf Club.
The Ospreys carded a final round 300 en route to a three-day total of 904, just five shots behind tri-champions Western Kentucky, Elon and James Madison. UNF edged Atlantic Sun rival FGCU by two strokes to finish the event as the league's top finisher.

Junior Megan Wilshire fired a final round 1-under 71, pacing the Osprey lineup with a Top 10 finish of tie for eighth at 221. Fellow junior Nathalie Nygren joined her in the Top 20, finishing tied for 13th at 225 after a final round 81. Senior Mary Dawson, who played in the event as an individual, earned the squad's top finish of seventh (220) after a final round even-par 72.
The UNF lineup for the 54-hole event also included the senior trio of Kelly Aylwin (75), who tied for 39th at 231, Belinda George (77) in a tie for 50th at 233 and Emelie Alpe (77), tied for 81st at 240.
WKU, Elon and JMU all finished the tournament with totals of 899 followed by UNF in fourth and FGCU in fifth at 906. Elon's Kelsey Badmaev claimed the individual medalist crown by one shot, finishing with a three-round total of 2-under 214.
North Florida wraps up its tournament preparation for the upcoming Atlantic Sun Championship (Apr. 10-12) with the Web.com Intercollegiate on Apr. 4-5 at Marsh Landing Country Club.
