JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – University of North Florida volleyball makes its home debut for the 2015 season with its two-day Courtyard Mayo Classic. The Ospreys host Bethune-Cookman, Campbell and Florida Atlantic at UNF Arena on Friday and Saturday.
Â
"We are so excited to get back on our home court," said head coach Steve Loeswick. "The girls are ready to play in front of their friends and families. The team is focused on getting better each time they step on the court. The competition will be strong, so we have to be ready for every match. It should be a really fun weekend of volleyball at UNF Arena."
Â
UNF enters this weekend with a 4-3 overall record. During last weekend's Dish Tennessee Volleyball Classic, the Ospreys went 2-2, collecting victories over Tennessee Tech and Eastern Kentucky. In the Tennessee Tech match, the Ospreys hit an impressive .460 – it's highest hitting percentage for a three-set match since hitting .464 against Augusta State on Oct. 29, 2014.
Â
UNF kicks off the tournament on Friday at Noon against Bethune-Cookman and then faces Campbell later on Friday at 7 p.m. The Ospreys finished home-opening weekend against Florida Atlantic on Saturday.
Â
Single-day tickets for Friday or Saturday are $5 day pass for adults and $3 day pass for youth 17-under, senior citizens, military and UNF faculty and staff with proper ID. A two-day pass is available for $8 for adults and $5 for youth 17-under, senior citizens, military and UNF faculty and staff with proper ID.
Â
In honor of Sept. 11, military members, first responders and their families may purchase $2 tickets for Friday's matches only. An ID is required for the $2 ticket price.
Â

Â
Honors and Awards: Tessa Alyman was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Dish Tennessee Volleyball Classic, while Kimberly Ferguson earned Atlantic Sun Defensive Player of the Week honors. Alyman recorded 57 kills and hit .221 last weekend. Ferguson averaged 4.40 digs per set and tallied a career-best 27 digs last Friday against Eastern Kentucky.

Delicia Pierre averages a team-best 4.04 kills per set... Hazel Ortiz-Rosado averages 9.65 assists per set and leads the team in digs (3.74 digs per set).
Â
