JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The North Florida Women's Soccer team hosts Presbyterian and Georgia State this Friday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m., respectively at Hodges Stadium.
The Ospreys (1-1-0) look to have a successful weekend following a split of their first two matches, first defeating Francis Marion 4-0 last Friday, before falling to FAU 1-0 this past Sunday.
"We are excited to be at home this weekend and playing a double header with our men's team. It is going to be a great environment at Hodges with it being the first week of classes and students excited to get out and support both Men's and Women's Soccer," said coach
Robin Confer.
Three different Ospreys have goals recorded this season. Freshman
Krista Colubiale, junior
Alexis Bredeau, and senior
Amanda Fischler all scored in the season-opening win against Francis Marion.
On the defensive side for the Ospreys, Goalkeepers
Susie Ford and
Victoria Ekeli have combined to allow one goal in the first two matches, totaling eight saves. Junior
Kendall Pollock and sophomore
Jess Kinlaw lead the team in minutes played, both totaling 153 through two games on the defensive front.
"Our team has been working hard this week in training and we have continued to make progress each week since the start of preseason," added Confer. "The energy has been good and they are excited to play at home this weekend."
