JACKSONVILLE – The North Florida women's soccer team makes their 2015 debut when this Friday when they take on Francis Marion at 4 p.m. in Florence, S.C.
"The team has been working hard this preseason and it was good to play two exhibition matches," says head coach
Robin Confer. "We continue to make progress each day and I know the girls are ready to take the field tomorrow."
The Ospreys feature a multitude of returners and a young squad eager to hit the pitch. Of the six returning sophomores, three were featured on last year's Atlantic Sun All-Conference team, with
Hanna Parado also earning All-Conference Second Team Honors. All three returning sophomores were also featured on this year's TopDrawerSoccer.com Top 20 players in the conference.
Three seniors lead the way for the Ospreys from the midfield.
Lanie Keating leads all returners in minutes played, matches played, and matches started.
Amanda Fischler tallied one goal and two assists last year, while
Ashley Carmean adds consistency to the midfield, starting all 13 matches she played in last year.
Following their match against Francis Marion, the Ospreys return home this Sunday to take on FAU in their home opener at 1 p.m. at Hodges Stadium.
