Seeding, #ASunMTEN Regular Season Title on the Line Saturday Night for No. 69 @OspreyMTEN

FORT MYERS, Fla. – No. 69 University of North Florida men's tennis concludes the Atlantic Sun Conference portion of its schedule at Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday evening at 5 p.m., at the FGCU Tennis Complex. The match pits the only two undefeated conference teams against each other.

"The guys are really excited about Saturday evening," said head coach Mark Finnegan. "As a team, we are really starting to get who we are. In order to have a great victory on Saturday, we all need to stick together. It's going to be a great challenge because Florida Gulf Coast is very well coached and have a lot of talent."

UNF enters Saturday's match at a 5-0 mark in Atlantic Sun play, while Florida Gulf Coast is 4-0. A win on Saturday for the Ospreys would allow UNF capture the Atlantic Sun Regular Season Championship and the No. 1 seed in the Atlantic Sun Tournament that is in two weeks. However, if Florida Gulf Coast wins, the Eagles will be the Regular Season Champions with the No. 1 seed, while UNF will be the No. 2 seed for the conference tournament.

The Ospreys come off a 5-2 win over Stetson on Thursday to remain undefeated on their home courts this season. UNF claimed the doubles point and then won the first three completed singles matches for the win over the Hatters. The doubles competition has been a strength for the Ospreys, who have captured the doubles point in 17 of their 20 matches. Additionally, UNF has tallied double-digit wins on all three doubles courts, including 13-4 at No. 1, 12-1 at No. 2 and 11-3 at No. 3 this spring.

Florida Gulf Coast comes into Saturday's match with a 13-5 overall record and a seven-match winning streak. The last four wins for the Eagles have been against Atlantic Sun competition, which includes a pair of 5-2 road wins at Kennesaw State and USC Upstate and two 6-1 victories at home against Lipscomb and Northern Kentucky. Saturday's match is Florida Gulf Coast's last home match of the season. The Eagles are 6-1 at home this season with the only blemish being a 4-3 setback to UCF on Feb. 28. Three Eagles have double-digit wins this spring – Jordi Vives (15-2), Rickey Ventura (12-5) and Tianyu Bao (11-5). Vives has played at No. 1 singles all season and is on a seven-match winning streak.
