JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The North Florida softball team returns home for their first games in two weeks with a three-game series against Atlantic Sun foe Northern Kentucky Friday and Saturday at the UNF Softball Complex.
 
The Ospreys (21-19, 3-6 A-Sun) look to get back on track after a tough seven-game road swing, which closed Wednesday night in an extra-inning 2-1 thriller against the third-ranked Florida Gators in Gainesville.
 
The Norse (5-20, 1-5 A-Sun) are coming off of a split non-conference doubleheader with Austin Peay.
 
The Ospreys' lineup is led by juniors Stacy McClelland and Shelby Duncan. McClelland leads the team and ranks fifth in the conference in batting average (.407), ranks first for the team and fourth in the conference in home runs (9) and leads the team and ranks eighth in the conference in RBIs (29).
 
Duncan ranks second on the team and sixth in the conference in batting average (.400). Duncan notched the lone hit against the Gators Wednesday night with a home run over the right field wall which forced extras against the defending national champs.
 
The Ospreys pitching staff is led by seniors Kayla Goff and Kaylie Wallace.
 
Goff ranks first on the team and fourth in the conference in ERA (2.85) and Wallace ranks second on the team and seventh in the conference in ERA (2.97). Both Goff and Wallace rank in the conference's top ten in strikeouts, while Goff ranking sixth (76) and Wallace ranking eighth (59).
 
The series starts with a doubleheader Friday afternoon at 3 p.m., and concludes Saturday with a morning matchup at 11 a.m. Live Stats and a full recap will be available on UNFOspreys.com
