No. 69 @OspreyMTEN Stays Undefeated in #ASunMTEN Play with 5-2 Win Over Stetson

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – No. 69 University of North Florida men's tennis improved to 5-0 in the Atlantic Sun after downing Stetson 5-2 on Thursday at the UNF Tennis Complex. The win also marked UNF's ninth home victory of the season, keeping the Ospreys undefeated on their home court this spring.
"I'm so happy for our guys today; we really showed up to play tonight," said head coach Mark Finnegan. "Our doubles excelled and we got back on track. It's sets us up for a great showdown with Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday."

UNF got out to a 1-0 lead after the doubles competition. Lasse Muscheites and Zach Goldberg gave UNF an advantage in the doubles point, cruising past Chester Espie and Nathan Debut 8-2 on the No. 1 court. Alberto De Meo and Yannick Zuern clinched the doubles point with an 8-5 win against Simon Julin and Graham Ball at No. 3 doubles.

In singles, Norbert Nemcsek quickly powered past Debut at the No. 1 spot with a 6-1, 6-2 win that put the Ospreys up 2-0. UNF the last two points it needed to win almost consecutively. De Meo claimed a 7-5, 6-2 win over Espie at No. 6 singles. Then Julian Bradley held on for a 6-1, 0-6, 6-3 three-set triumph against Loic Blanco on the No. 3 court, providing UNF with the match-winning point.

Stetson got on the scoreboard with Laurnyas Antropikas fending off Yannick Zuern 6-4, 7-6 (3) at No. 2 singles to make it a 4-1 match.

In the final two matches, Muscheites fought back to take a 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-7) victory from Julin at No. 4 singles. However, in a re-match of the Bedford Cup Gray Flight Championship, Grahma Ball came back for a 1-6, 7-6, 1-0 (10-5) win over Goldberg on the No. 5 court.
