TAMPA, Fla. – No. 52 University of North Florida men's tennis fell in the 2015 USF Spring Break Invitational consolation finals 4-1 to No. 25 Drake on Sunday, concluding action at the three-day tournament.

"Today was a tough loss for the team," said head coach Mark Finnegan. "We came out and compete well, but came up a little short. We are excited to start our conference season this upcoming week."

UNF got out to a 1-0 start after winning the doubles point. No. 68 Jack Findel-Hawkins and Norbert Nemcsek edged out Alen Salibasic and Ben Mullis 6-4 on the No. 1 court. Caio Gomes and Yannick Zuern posted a 6-3 victory against Matt Frost and Ravi Patel at No. 2 doubles.

However, Drake rattled off four wins in the singles competition. No. 42 Salibasic defeated Gomes at No. 1 singles 6-4, 6-3. Calum MacGeoch had a 6-3, 6-2 win against Julian Bradley on the No. 4 court. At No. 5 singles, Mullis edged out Lasse Muscheites 6-3, 6-4. Bayo Philips defeated Alberto De Meo 6-2, 6-4 at the No. 6 spot.

UNF returns to action on Thursday with its first Atlantic Sun match of the season. The Ospreys face Lispcomb at 3 p.m., EST., at the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center.
