The Ospreys began the meet with a third place and fourth place finish in the 200 freestyle relay. The third place combination of
Nicole Nesto,
Taylor Schmidinger,
Janie Kennedy and
Chase Walker combined for the team's fastest time (1:38.32) of the season.
In the 1000 freestyle, freshman
Kiana Albert bested her previous four times by posting a 10:47.54 for a fifth place finish. Junior
Shelby Panter shaved almost a half a minute off her 1000 time, placing sixth with a time of 10:48.41.
In the night session's final event,
Kaleigh Newcomb,
Lauren Kelso,
Amy Taylor and Walker turned in the team's best 400 medley relay time of the year (3:54.95).
The Florida Tech Invite will continue Friday with two sessions, starting at 10:00 a.m. with preliminaries and 6:00 p.m. with finals.
