Amy Taylor was the Ospreys' top swimmer in last Saturday's tri-meet with FIU and Georgia Southern. In the 200 butterfly she swam a new career-best time of 2:06.16 to win the race. She also turned in a pair of second place finishes in the 1000 Free and the 500 Free.
Impressive Debuts: The influx of new talent on the Ospreys roster this season showed on Saturday as Head Coach
Ian Coffey witnessed some impressive swims from his newcomers. Freshman
Kiana Albert's time of 2:11.23 in her first collegiate meet was the fastest of any Osprey in almost two years. Classmate
Emily Draskovich placed second in a field of 11 swimmers in the 100 butterfly. Her time of 59.74 was bested the third-place finisher by a tenth of a second.
Win Seeking: If history is any indication, the Ospreys have a good shot at landing their first victory of the season. Despite dropping the last three dual meets against Campbell, North Florida is 7-4 against the Camels since 2004. The Ospreys have also won all 10 previous meetings with North Carolina A&T.
Looking ahead: Next Saturday's meet against Florida Gulf Coast will be the last home meet of the season for North Florida. Prior to the meet, the Ospreys will honor their two seniors,
Amy Taylor and
Janie Kennedy.
