@OspreyWSOC Hosts NJIT and Lipscomb in Final Home Matches

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. The North Florida women's soccer team hosts their final two regular season home matches this weekend, facing conference foes NJIT Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Lipscomb Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Ospreys (3-8-0, 1-1-0 A-Sun) currently sit in third place in the conference through their first two matches, including a 2-1 win over Stetson last weekend at Hodges Stadium.

"We are looking forward to being at home for two important conference matches. It is a crucial weekend for us and we need to pick up some points," said coach Robin Confer. "When it comes to conference play every game is going to be competitive and tight, so we need to be at our best. We had a great week of training and are focused and ready."

The Highlanders (2-9-0, 0-2-0 A-Sun) are coming off of a non-conference loss to Delaware State on Tuesday, after falling to Kennesaw State last Saturday.

The Bisons (7-2-4, 2-0-0 A-Sun) are currently first in the conference following a win over USC Upstate last Saturday. They'll face Jacksonville on Friday before heading to Hodges Stadium.

The Ospreys look to continue their strong defensive play this season. Goalkeeper Susie Ford ranks second in the conference in save percentage at .816 and also ranks third in GAA (1.10). Two defenders for the Ospreys, Jenna Steininger and Gabrielle Ligouri rank in the top three on the team in minutes.

On offense, midfielder Ashley Carmean ranks second on the team in minutes, while Alexis Bredeau leads all forwards in minutes.

Live Stats will be available for both matches this weekend, with a full recap following each match online at UNFOspreys.com.
